Analysing Multidimensional Poverty in Guinea Using the Fuzzy Set Approach

چکیده
ii SUMMARY The aim of this document is to study the multidimensional aspect of poverty in Guinea taking into account the monetary and non monetary dimensions for a better characterization of the poor. The work is done using data from the Full Base Survey on Poverty Assessment (FBSPA 2002-2003). The methodological approach of Dagum and Costa (2004) on the fuzzy set theory has been adopted which is complemented by the decomposition methods of Mussard and Pi Alperin (2005). The results have led to the identification of the main variables associated with poverty and are also indicating the state of deprivation of the different groups like the natural regions, administrative regions, area of residence, genre, religion, households' size, according to the main attributes selected. The effect of the different attributes on the deprivation of each group and the global poverty index has been tested.
